Invisalign is one of Redwood Dental’s most popular cosmetic dentistry procedures. And it’s no wonder. Statistics show that only about 35 percent of adults have properly aligned front teeth. Further, about 20 percent of the population does not have an ideal bite.
If you find yourself in one of these categories, maybe you’ve considered Invisalign to correct your smile. Redwood Dental, one of metro Detroit’s premier groups providing the best dental and cosmetic care in southeast Michigan, offers Invisalign.

What exactly is Invisalign?
Inivisalign is a treatment consisting virtually invisible aligners that work to straighten teeth and correct bites inconspicuously. Unlike traditional braces made of metal, Invisalign aligners are made of a clear, thermoplastic material that are custom-made to shift teeth over a period of about 12 months.
What is the process?
Over the treatment period, patients will be given a series of aligners that make various adjustments to tooth positioning. This process and the aligners are predetermined by your Redwood Dental dentist. When placed over the teeth, the aligners gradually move the teeth toward their correct positioning. Patients advance to the next set of aligners about every two weeks.
Can people tell I’m wearing Invisalign?
Much more discreet than traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible. Additionally, Invisalign does not contain metal brackets or wires that often cause irritation with braces.
How often do I have to wear Invisalign aligners in a day?
Invisalign must be worn 20 – 22 hours a day in order to work properly. However, unlike braces, you can (and should!) remove your aligners when eating, as well as when brushing and flossing your teeth, then immediately put them back into position.
How often will I need to see my dentist?
Throughout the course of your Invisalign treatment, you will see your Redwood Dental doctor roughly every four to six weeks. This is so we can accurately track your progress and make any necessary adjustments.
Is Invisalign painful?
Invisalign is beneficial in that it aligns teeth without much of the pain that traditional braces come with. Some patients feel a bit of pressure at the starting stage of each new set of aligners, which subsides in a few days.
Are there financing options for Invisalign?
At Redwood Dental, we are proud to accept more dental insurance plans than any other dentist in metro Detroit. We also offer our patients a variety of financing options because we believe that everyone’s dream smile should be a reality.
